Good morning all

I have problems opening files including Facebook messages
at the moment I get the following message

This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one already installed, create an association in the default program control panel.

I recently had my computer cleaned, and it worked fine for awhile , suddenly I can' open these files
Any suggestion

Thanks

What type of files you are going to open? executable files. (.exe) or other?

What is your operating system?

Thank you.

Here is my problem in a nutshell

When I receive an email with a you tube video / the video cannot be open unless I save it on my document in my download I then sometime am able to open the file.

Facebook messages also cannot be open  and has to be saved and downloaded

When I receive an email that has a web site on it's open page suggesting to click on to open. The same rule applies I have to save it to my document it goes in my download, and sometimes it can be open.

The instructions' I get is

This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one already installed, create an association in the default program control panel

That is the story

John

Let's examine something on your computer first.

Please download Minitoolbox and save to your desktop.

Run it and select following options:

  • Flush DNS
  • Report IE Proxy Settings
  • Reset IE Proxy Settings
  • Report FF Proxy Settings
  • Reset FF Proxy Settings
  • List Content of Host
  • List Last 10 event Viewer Error
  • List Installed Programs
  • LIst Minidump files

Close Firefox (If have) before continue. Press GO and wait, the program will produce a log for you, copy the content of log file and paste it here.

Please don;t attach the log file.

Thank you.
