I'm trying to run the Java Se 7 Update 40 and I get the dreaded Java was interrupted message. I'm running Vista home basic 32 bit. My browser is Google chrome. I've uninstalled the old java in add/remove programs, I've deleted the registry info in regedit, I've tried JavaRa but it doesn't show that there's any old files remaining. I saw a lot of people have success with microsoft fixit but of course when I try it it's been discontinued and isn't working without a new alternative (or at least that I've seen). I feel like I've tried just about everything and still have no luck. I've working on this all day and decided to suck it up and finally ask for some help. If anyone can help me out with this problem it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to anyone able to help me with this problem in advance.

Well...you know that you don't necessarily need java.

I've two systems, one runs with it, one runs without it.  Neither has problems.

I'd just uninstall it.

I need it to run a certain program I use on my computer. If I didn't use this program I won't use it at all and would just uninstall it and forget about it.
