I'm trying to backup QB Point of Sale from a server running XP to a server running Windows 7. Every morning I receive this backup log from backup@comptechweb.com with the subject Backup Report [Failed] > QB POS:

I'm not sure if QuickBooks is actually backing up or not. I believe it may be an issue with permissions. Any help resolving this error would be appreciated.

I don't think you'll know for sure unless you set up the software on another computer and dump your backup data into it.  You should probably do this every so often anyway for any application.

FWIW as I remember it from last year

We used to back up manually at the end of the day last year when I was working with QB POS.

The Only way the backup would work was doing it while logged in as the QB administrator.

A normal user log-in would not work.

Try doing it manually. If I forgot to switch from User to Admin it would start the process, zip and then fail.

Good Luck

Roger
