Playing Home Movie Dvds?

I cant get my old ((((like 10 years old)))) home movie DVDs to play on my computer.Ive tried to see what type of DVD it is but my parents put those create-dvd-labels on theDVD so I cant read anything on it.Since these are so old Im wondering if there is any program that will play it?

What did your parents use to make these dvd movies with?
What happens when you try to play one?
Can't be 10 years old. Even simple dvd players didn't hit the market heavy until late 1997\early 1998 in the US. :thumbsup:
