Hello world,

I have a Lenovo T400 laptop I bought a few years ago on ebay. There was a over heating problem when I bought it. But cleaned out the fan and I was working great.

I did a compleat reinstall with windows 7 and I get many bsod.

I have tried many install cd's new cd rom drive. 2 hard drives. changed out the ram.

I ran hardware scanners. (no problems found).

Every time I do an clean install or windows update I get a diffrent BSOD. After it does a few reboots the computer ends up working.

I have tried looking at the memory dump files. most of them are different drivers.

I would like to get to the bottom of this.

Thanks,

James

Looking at the errors...the hardware...install date...and apparent system problems...my guess would be that you have hardware problems...or malware problems.  The version of Win 7 reflected as installed shows as readily available via torrents and other websites distributing illegal downloads/isos of Windows.  .If you have an illegal version of Windows and your problems stem from installing it, I can't say if malware is a factor, but the chances for such would increase.

For a system to exhibit these types of errors/problems on Day 1 of an install...certainly would make me question the media and the hardware...

Lenovo Instructions, Clean Installing Win 7

There is no obvious problem with hardware...which makes me shift from that to the installation media as the problem.

But you could always go through the drills for checking RAM and hard drive.  Because it's a laptop and Lenovo doesn't provide any hardware diagnostics...oops, I see that they do.  Best suggestion that I can make is to make use of the diagnostic proceures at http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/diagnose-and-fix/default.page? .
