How can I learn what each file does that runs in the background so that I can decide which ones I want to delete? Can anyone suggest a website? Thank you.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx information about the process. IE manufacturer Process explorer is a program

also you can put the process name into google for example help.exe

You don't want to try and delete processes as they may have stop a program unexpectedly.

What sort of process have you been curios about?

I just want to try to tune my system up. It's running okay. I like to know that there's few or no unnecessary processes running in the background.

I've seen the list of processes running (forgot how I got there). It was a very long list. Made me question if I needed all that stuff running.

To search each file via Google would take years. I am hoping there is a list of files somewhere that fully describes each files function so I could decide whether or not I need it.

Thanks.
