Windows Media Player Problem

My laptop plays music when in standby mode but when i switch it on, the music plays but no sound comes..please help me...i m too distressed....

First thing I would do is to check all the audio settings (volume settings) in the program that you're using and in the audio settings in Windows itself (Start>Settings>Control Panel then open up "Sounds and Audio devices".....check to make sure things aren't unintentionally muted). Also, if your comp has a sound card, check the settings for that, same thing if it has onboard audio.

This is just the basic stuff. I'm clueless as to why it would work in standby mode, but not when it's actually running :thumbsup:
