Hi there, am new to this site. Hope someone can help me out with my problem. I have AVG and recently, after my beloved nephew downloaded some games to my laptop, I always run a scan before I use it again. It says that AVG detected 1686 potentially dangerous threats - not all were removed. These seem to be in locked files that can't be tested. I am worried about these as I use my laptop for banking and other personal things. Is my laptop still safe, why can't I remove these threats? Please help me someone!  :(

Please  run these tools to see if it helps to solve your problem

Junkware removal tool

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/junkware-removal-tool/

ADWcleaner      (press scan, when the scan has finished press clean)

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

Malwarebytes antimalware (please decline the offer for a 7 day trial)

http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&tag=button

All of these programs will create a log file once the scan has finished, please post all three log files so that we can all see what has been removed.

If you are unsure about anything or have any questions about any of the tools then feel free to ask  :)

If the above does not work there is a small program called "UNLOCKER" that can unlock and delete files.  i use it for persistent problems and it rarely fails

Where are those files located as some files like pagefile.sys are not scanned. It's simply because pagefile.sys is in use by Windows, and therefore cannot be scanned.
