hello,

hope it is not too late or may another person will be able to use the information

I hade this issue actually today, I did the following and it worked:

1- download any antivirus (free trial) any (I downloaded Norton free trial)

2-deleted the Microsoft essential (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Security Client- it wont let you delete everything but delete whatever you can)

3-run a security scan with the free trial

4-fix or delete whatever was found on your PC (virus malware...)

5-unistall from add remove program

6-download the Microsoft essential and run a security scan again.

it should be fixed.

good luck
