Hello,

2 weeks ago after returning from a 2 week camping trip I was attempting to update my AV and Windows Xp and assume it updated. The following week My windows task bar was missing and after starting up my my CPU it would alert me stating I keep getting the following message: System Shutdown-The system is shutting down. Please save all work in progress and log off. Any unsaved changes would be lost. This shutdown was initiated by NT Authority\System. It seems to be cycle every time it wants to restart. I have been able to stop the shut down under cmd/ shutdown -a but my CPU can no longer access the Internet it is so frustrating and I am at a loss.

My equipment if you will HP net book running XP and using avira AV.

Can someone please help?

Thanks in advance.

Matt

I have been using another laptop and still would like to have my other laptop working again. If someone is available to help me I would very much so appreciate it.

I have done a little research and it appears it could be a blaster worm due to the virus attempting shut down my cpu via windows NT authority message and also for some reason my internet connect on the infected laptop no longer works.

I have no windows start menu on my xp and I can prevent the auto shut down under cmd prompt using shutdown -a but it only lasts 5 minutes between attempts to shut down. Also I just discovered that my computer will not read flash drives anymore as well.

Thank you.
