I have a free version of AVG it is a 2013 version but now I clicked to start updates and a pop up occurred asking me to accept Upgrade to 2014 I don't understand this because I did not purchase

the program, however it seems to refer to the fact I purchased it I am not sure to decline because I want to retain the Free Version.

Will appreciate your advice.

Read this before you update to AVG 2014 -

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/507788/avg-reports-irp-hooks-false-positives-or/

You do NOT have to UPGRADE, ignore that and just go for the FREE version with an UPDATE. if the terms are   confused, make sure step by step that it is the FREE version you are dealing with. If not - dump it.

I am staying on AVG 2013 until the 2014 has been run in.

avast does something similar...prompting you with notifications to upgrade at various times. I always decline.

My wife clicked ok one time and did not realize she was installing the Paid for version...I had to uninstall it, then reinstall the free version again.

How to remove AVG trial popup and continue with free protection
