My MSE has an orange banner that says "PC Status: Potentially Unprotected"

and a field/button to "CLEAN PC."

This looks new and suspicious.

I have run Malwarebytes quick scan, deleted one threat.

Currently running a full scan.

Any advice is welcome....

Hi MSE2012 -

Please ignore all posts by wallee as they do not know what is being done -

Try the Uninstall and Reinstall MSE with these methods -

First remove MSE from Programs and Features.
Next Uninstall M.S.E. Tool use this link to clean up.
The Microsoft Security Essentials Removal Tool can be used to remove all traces of Microsoft Security Essentials from your computer in the event that you are unable to remove it normally via the Windows control panel. This tool is Fixit 50535 as part of the Microsoft Fixit standalone utilities.

Reinstall M.S.E. Microsoft Security Essentials < Direct Microsoft link.

If this will not work please tell me -

Thank You -

Sorry...that is not a good suggestion.

DDS and other malware logs...are not to be posted in this forum.  Please see http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/126946/a-reminder-to-our-members-regarding-malware-logs/ .

The forum referenced in above link is only forum here at BC where such logs can be examined/revieweed/processed.

For more info on how this forum works, please see pinned topics on main page, ,http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/103/am-i-infected-what-do-i-do/ and read from the top down through the first 7 pinned/locked topics.

Thank you.

Louis

Thanks everyone.

Malwarebytes Full Scan came up clean.

Then I followed Noknojon's advice and did MSE uninstall/re-install.

Looks good again (so far). Thanks!

Thanks for the update -

If this changes please post back here in the next few days, or start a new topic after that.
