Hello, I am new to this site, and find the choices of asking my question a little confusing, so pardon me if this is not the right forum.

My problem is that my computer is infected with sweetpacks and I can't figure out how to get rid of it.  I do have virus protection (AVG) and have had for many years.  I also recently added super anti spyware professional. Neither seem to be controlling the problem.  I have, until recently, been opening my various sites with google chrome, but, suddenly, things changed to firefox with the sweetpacks tool bar. This site redirects to all sorts of pop ups.   I may have made things worse by trying to uninstall firefox, which I could not do, so I uninstalled the sweetpacks tool bar, Now it seems I have boxes popping up everywhere.  I'm not sure what my next step should be but I'm afraid without some direction I may make things even worse.  I appreciate any suggestions that might be offered.  Thanks.

Hello and welcome, you are good in this forum.

Please use this SweetPacks Toolbar and SweetIM Toolbar Removal Guide
Then Download TDSSKiller and save it to your desktop.
  • Extract (unzip) its contents to your desktop.
  • Open the TDSSKiller folder and doubleclick on TDSSKiller.exe to run the application, then on Start Scan.
  • If an infected file is detected, the default action will be Cure, click on Continue.
  • If a suspicious file is detected, the default action will be Skip, click on Continue.
  • It may ask you to reboot the computer to complete the process. Click on Reboot Now.
  • If no reboot is require, click on Report. A log file should appear. Please copy and paste the contents of that file here.
  • If a reboot is required, the report can also be found in your root directory (usually C:\ folder) in the form of TDSSKiller_xxxx_log.txt. Please copy and paste the contents of that file here.
Let me know how it works out.

How do I get help? Who is helping me?For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear....Become a BleepingComputer fan: Facebook
