xp pro keeps trying to install same updates

I just did a new install xp pro sp1 . after installing a bunch of updates it keeps wanting to install the following updates kb2419632,  kb2698365 .. i tried a .net framework repair but it didnt help .any help would be greatly appreciated..

i will do that.. i actually had vista but it got stuck in the loop of installing update 3 of 3 lol so i didnt have a repair disk but i had an old reinstall disk for xp thankfully it worked so i wanted to make sure that it wasnt something to do with that.

It is annoying but the easiest thing to do is ignore the repeat update notifications (or hide them), be patient and wait for Microsoft to release a fix.

Since this issue is probably affecting millions...I expect Microsoft to release an out of cycle patch as soon as they figure out what that fix is.

September 2013 Office Update: Targeting and Repeated Offering

Since the shipment of the September 2013 Security Bulletin Release, we have received reports of updates being offered for installation multiple times, or certain cases where updates were not offered via Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) or System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).

We have investigated the issue, established the cause, and we have released new updates that will cease the unnecessary re-targeting of the updates or the correct offering of these updates.


If you had hidden the updates and go to Windows update (Customize) now...you most likely will receive the following:

No high-priority updates for your computer are available. To select other updates, use the options to the left.
