I have a 2TB WD Passport that's currently giving me issues.

A couple of weeks ago, the hard drive crashed (while the computer was still running), and now, whenever I try plug it into my laptop, I receive the warning that I need to reformat the hard drive in order to access the data.

I've tried to retrieve the information with Recuva, but unfortunately, the data was only detected via a Deep Scan,

and even with this measure, the folder structure was mislabeled.

What other data retrieval techniques or programs might you suggest I use?

All helpful feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks ^_^

Give TestDisk a try. It has proven helpful to me in the past.

Lots of documentation on the page as well.

Good luck.
