I took the big grey ribbon off of the floppy disk player but I cant work out how it goes back on? The ribbon is too big for a start and it has a pin blanked off in the middle? Whats happened here? As usual I cant upload any photos.

You are looking at two different cables, the floppy cable has fewer wires, the one that you have is an IDE cable for a hard drive or CD/DVD drive.

Does the cable have a twist of section before the final connector ? If not, then its not the floppy cable.
