I almost don't know where to begin! I have had this problem since last Dec. It has rewritten my boot, it slowly takes total control of system, Starts by greying out controls such as "menu bar" in "organize layout" in windows explorer. The TPM has been disabled the entire time. I get "fake pages" also I have a complete set of false ".chm" & ".hlp" files. BIOS (Award 93.13) does not flash according to logs, but screen shows "success". I have cleared CMOS, flashed BIOS, removed BU battery, let set a week, installed new HDD, a WDC7500, and an Hitachi 320Gb. I do have win32k.sys in my win 32 directory.

After a few days, or sometimes hours, I have NO control left! Machine "lies", about every command  "not enough memory" , "Path Not Found"  "Recycle bin corrupt" (this is a favorite!) Browser will only redirect.

Fake controls in Admin tools, ( I can hit F5 & glimpse genuine page behind displayed page) Same with "safe mode" Login screen is behind it! Have ran Vista HP, Win 7 Hp , Pro, Ultimate, Win 8 Pro, Makes no difference! I also have an old Dell Inspiron 610 running Xp Pro sp3, It has same problrm but, affects it less and takes longer Approx. 1 month. Before NO BOOT!   The machine I am Attempting to fix is my "08" Gateway ML6732 duo core Intel 1.87 Ghz, 3.6 Gb DDRAM, Hitachi 320Gb or WD750Gb internal HDD. Cannot access my external Iomega (Hitachi) 1Tb HDD Still contains backed up data. Also it immediately removes printing and burning capabilities, then write to USB goes soon after a fresh install. Also tried Elementary (stable) Linux,

A bit more resistant but still fails in days! Even running UBCD on Ramdrive only (no HDD installed) only runs a couple of days. I have read many logs, and I know that the "problem" creates a delete list for reboot, for any thing it does not like. Uses lots of .XML files and modified genuine Microsoft Files/Utilities. NO anti virus has detcted anything, or is told not to report. After a couple of hours, Registry is locked out. Writes ALOT to registry! Writes ALOT to winSXS dir.

I have to start school in March. I cannot afford a new machine. I do know some of the code is Korean, but not all. Uses mssmbios, and writes a 300k extended boot file (given time).

I have tried to weed out unwanted or unexplained files. No Good. Am running Vista HP sp1 currently.

About two hours now, Am losing some functions as I write. Any Ideas????? Thanks in advance, I'll recheck as soon as I can, But may need to Low level format and reinstall just to get back to this site.

Merged topics.  Topic title was: Cannot follow directions due to problems on PC ~ OB

Thank you !  one of  four,
A symptom of my problem is that once infected, burning,  printing, and writing to a USB, are all disabled! I can get a couple prints from my old HP tentwenty, if, I try right away.
I have a printout called setupact.log, which explains all! But I do not have the skill to do anything about it. They have written to my BIOS, Clearly stated on pg.four of log.
Can I FAX it to you guy's ? PC has crashed again, and am running on rescue disk and RAMDRIVE.
Can call me at (digits are disabled) five,three,zero-six,seven,eight,-two,four,six,two. if I am unable to respond by email in a timely fashion. Should I reload windows, and attempt  process?  According to log, they have control set up in approx. two seconds! So maybe in this case I could get permission to FAX log to moderator? Will check mail again at this PM Pacific time.  Thanks again! Thanks to oobupme (sorry can't find original name spelling) for his advise as well, PC was unable to complete instructions.

Looks good

Now that your log is properly posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a Malware Removal Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.
From this point on the Malware Removal Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.
Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the Malware Removal Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the Malware Removal Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another MRL Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.
The current wait time is 1 - 2 days and ALL logs are answered.
If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.
To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic.
