Hi,

I'm trying to diagnose this issue on the Gateway NV53A52U laptop.

I can run fine in safe mode, and when in normal mode, the computer works perfectly fine until I either get a sudden black screen (the screen is still lit, just goes black), or the screen freezes and I'm forced to do a hard reboot.

Any ideas or maybe a suggestion on where to start diagnosing?

Thanks for you help!

To check the temps, download, install and run HWMonitor.

  • Click the "1.23 setup, english" over on the right of that page to start the download.

  • When setting up the installation, make sure you deselect (uncheck) all of the items that you probably do not want installed, such as an Ask Toolbar etc.
