My teenage son recently started online gaming which I think is the source of the problem as since he started we have had lots of flashing pop ups and icons appear that we haven't installed. Also our Kaspersky antivirus software has completely disappeared. I did try and call Kaspersky to speak about this problem but got a company called guruaid who wanted to remote access my computer, I felt very nervous about this so declined, any advice on what to do for the best would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Try getting a trial version of 30days...2013 or 2014 from the internet.
Also try Norton power erase which is a small 5-10mb tool. It might help you. It worked for me recently. No guarantees for everyone though.

As an aside, pls tell teenage kids to avoid all the "free" games, pr0n and pirated downloads. Those are highly likely to be malicious.
