I am RochainoV, I am 18 years old and I am new to the IT scene, I don't really know where to start so I thought why not give this site a try, I am interested in network security and programming but I am a complete beginner, I look forward to hearing from you all.

Hi Rochainov,

Those are Very nice choices to persue. If there is anything that you want to know ..ask !   BC has a great security group, and some programming topics also.  What is your programming language of choice?

Hi synergy513,

I don't have a programming language yet but I have been told to start with python or c++ , are those good for a beginner or do you have a better option? Thanks for the reply by the way.

i haven't really researched the subject, but last i checked...C and C++ were gaining market share. BC has a small topic area for programming, some marketing perspective can be found there more than likely.

I remember learning BASIC when i was a teenager in the 1970s. The point of that language was to learn the principles and establish a foundation before moving ahead to FORtran or Pascal.

as far as network security, i have seen SQL and TOPserver or something like that pop up in that realm from time to time. I have also seen a BC  topic area for that also

Yes thank you for the quick replies, I was kind of in the dark about where to start but I'll give c++ and sql a try.
