Hi.

When I installed the last lot of windows updates a week or so back all of them were pre checked except for KB2859537

so I just installed the ones that were pre selected.  I am now wondering why KB2859537 was not checked and if I should go back and install it or is there some reason that I don't actually need it.  It was listed as an important update.

Thanks for any help in regards to this update.  I have windows 7 64 bit.

As it stands I would not add this update.  I have not been able to find any information suggesting that Microsoft has repaired this update.

I have asked for a clarification from Quietman7 who is one of our resident experts in this department.

Edit:  Quietman7 suggests that the following information should be read.  It looks like this update is still causing problems.

I have that update installed, and have not had any problems, but that is not to say that others will not.

I have read that it sometimes prevents games from starting, among other things.

As far as important updates being checked or uncheched, I always just install the checked ones first, then go back and install the ones that were unchecked.

I always think that maybe there was some reason the Gnomes in Redmond wanted the checked ones installed first.

But I could be wrong.
