I have a HP Pavilion DV6 that is BSOD no matter what I do. When trying to boot windows it go to starting windows and then crashes. I was able to get to the beginning portion of the system restore to factory default. On the first restart after preparation the system BSOD again and will not go any further. I have also tried to restore off a backup cd with the same problem. It will load files, but when it gets to starting windows the system crashes. I have ran system tests and memory and hard drive passed. Not sure where I go from here. I have read a driver problem on the DV6 can cause problems, but cannot get into Windows to find out the information. I also tried switching out the hard drive and reimaging it, but it would BSOD also.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone have any thoughts? Not sure if this is more of a infection or if it is a hardware problem. Starting to think more hardware, but I am not sure how to move a post to hardware. I have tried other hard drives and it comes up with the same errors.
