As the title says, you tube videos will no longer play on my computer. Either I get an error message right at the start, or they freeze a few seconds in. When that happens if I pull the progress button all the way to the end, then refresh the page sometimes they will. But sometimes they won't.
Any ideas?

Maybe it was caused the slow Internet collection, or may be caused by your old plug-in of flash player.

Sorry- I'm using chrome. And internet connection AND browser are the same I have been using all along. This is a recent problem, as in the last couple of months.

Try a different browser and see if it does the same thing. Chrome and Flash don't always play well together.

Nope. Same thing just happened in IE. "Error occured. Please try again later". Just tried in Safari, but page would not quit trying to load.

So now I want you to try a different viral video site like Daily Motion. This will tell us if it is just Youtube.

Oh it is just youtube. I've watched videos from other sites with no problem. The same with the one you linked above.

Right click on the Youtube player and click on settings. This is to adjust Flash. Unclick Enable Hardware Acceleration and see what that does.

That seems to work! How do I permanently disable this, or does it have to be done with each individual one?

Let me correct this somewhat. This does not work for an embedded video. Nor did it work for that particular video when I clicked the "view on youtube" link. Just got the error message.

The Flash settings are the same regardless and my experience is once you change something it stays changed. It could be something in your Youtube settings is causing your problem but I'm not sure.

I thought you may have been mistaken about having to change the Flash settings repeatedly. But I'm glad it worked. Remember, you fixed it.  :thumbup2:

I DO NOT flipping believe this. It's started all over again. I just tried watching the same video 6 times. Either I get error at the beginning, or it stops anywhere from 7 seconds in up to 30 seconds in. Nothing I did would let me finish watching it. And I double checked settings. The box is still unticked.

It was just a Guiness beer commercial, lol
