Hello all.

Recently my parents got the shaw cable arris PVR boxes. These ones are much more complicated than the older ones and they have USB ports and stuff.

These PVR's are the upgraded ones which means we can record 6 shows at once and view them from any room in the house.

In my room is one of these PVR's. I find cable TV to be laughably pathetic so I use my computer and Youtube for most of my entertainment. Basically I want to be able to do 2 things 1. Record game footage and 2. be able to record my screen so if there's a particular video I want to show my dad it can go right to his same PVR downstairs. My father is disabled so just showing him stuff on the computer which is upstairs is impossible.

I know things like this can be done but I'd need some instructions on how to go about setting up a PVR for computer use.

My computer is an HP xw9400 workstation with windows 7 enterprise.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
