I have two computers. A laptop and a desktop. My destop has a wired connection to my router and the internet connection is fine. My laptop uses a wireless connection and this connection is not working. Both connections are through a Linksys WRT54G router. My wireless netowrk's name does not show up as an option to connect to anymore. It seems to have vanished. I have unpluged and reset both my router and modem with no succes. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix my problem?

Thanks for your time in advance. :)

Here is some additional information that may be useful to anyone who thinks they can help.

  • None of my other wireless devices can pick up my network.
  • I can see other networks in my area.
  • The WLAN light is off on my router.
  • I am unable to login into my router. The IP address I have used in the past does not seem to work anymore.

Thanks again and I hope someone can help. :smash:

Hi aladc2001 :)

The WLAN light is off on my router.

Do you have an available wireless router to swap with the current Linksys device? Try also this http://pcsupport.about.com/od/linksys-default-passwords/a/wrt54g-default-password.htm It seems that it needs to be replaced based on the information given.

I'm inclined to agree with you. I think it's done for. Thanks for your help and time.
