I have an older Compaq laptop running on XP.  It is still usuable but is getting slower and slower.  I have run Malwarebytes and AVC, and also run CCleaner almost dailly, but no infections are found.  I'm trying to avoid a full reformat.  Could someone suggest some programs to run or a general procedure to clean up HD and avoid a reformat.  I know this is a general problem, but I'm running out of options.

Thanks, EG
