Hi

I have picked up this programme on my Windows 8 laptop and I'm having trouble removing it.  I have uninstalled it, but I keep getting these annoying pop up messages.  Can someone please help me uninstall it correctly?  I have read other posts on this.  Just want to make sure I am doing it correctly.  Can I follow instructions given to someone else?

Thanks

Hi -
There is an Uninstaller listed in the Programs list, but I have found people hve problems with this.

The first given uninstall directions ..............(You may wish to use Step 3 first (I would).

Step one: Uninstall MyPCBackup ( Online Backup Software) from Control Panel.
1)Find the “start” button on the lower left corner of your monitor, and then click it.
2) Find and double click the button “Control Panel”.
3) Find “Programs and Features” in the control panel, and then double click it.
4) NOTE Find the Mixi.DJ Toolbar icon in the list, and then select it to start uninstalling it from your computer.
This is one of those "Extras" that is hidden with MyPCBackup

Step two: Delete MyPCBackup registries from Registry Editor
Open Registry Editor (in Windows XP, go to Start Menu, run, type in “Regedit” and press OK; in Windows 7 & Windows Vista, go to Start menu, Search, type in “Regedit”), find out the following MyPCBackup (My PC Online Backup) registry entries and delete:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000}\TypeLib]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000}\Version]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000}\VersionIndependentProgID]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{D27CDB70-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000}]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{D27CDB70-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000}\InprocServer32]

Step 3 - If this Regisrey Editing is not for you, then try this option =>
Still start with this procedure from Programs and Features -
NOTE Find the Mixi.DJ Toolbar icon in the list, and then select it to start uninstalling it from your computer.
* NOW Please download and install Revo Uninstaller Free < <From Here
* Double click Revo Uninstaller to run it (or right click and select Run as Administrator).
* From the list of programs double click on The Program to remove
* When prompted if you want to uninstall click Yes.
* Be sure the Moderate option is selected then click Next.
* The program will run, If prompted again click Yes
* When the built-in uninstaller is finished click on Next.
* Once the program has searched for leftovers click Next.
* Check / tick the bolded items only on the list then click Delete
* When prompted click on Yes and then on next.
* Put a check on any folders that are found and select delete
* When prompted select yes then on next
-  This should have removed your program. Once done click Finish.

Thank You -

EDITED to add Extra Notes -

Noknojon,  you are a genius!  I used that product to get rid of Quick Share, which is

an adware and not possible to rid of in the Program or Task Manager!

Ms Lisa, I too, contracted MYpcBackup, however, I killed it in the Task Manger!  Was it

not lovely how it start up every time you turn on the bleeping computer!!

BTW, it also found about 15 or so Smartbar, which many were deleted with the use of

ADWare and  Malwarebites...

I think in a day or two, I will relaunch Revo and delete those too!

This download page has links for both Revo Uninstaller Free and Revo Uninstaller Free Portable. I prefer the portable version since no installation is required and I can carry it on my usb drive.

Quietman, thanks for the tip...I found the problem...!  I was able to install Bitmeter OS

but not the Bit Meter II...I went to programs and there where no .net framework listed,

despite the fact after a fresh OS install I also updated 112 files from Mr Microgates...

Only a hand full made it on to my rig...There is 112 new OS updates, of which I only

installed about 12 them and all being .net framework...

I tried installing Bit Meter II and this time I was successful!! :bounce:

I am going upload the rest of the updates a little at a time...
