Since yesterday I have been having this little box ad slide out from the bottom left side of my screen and the only time is doesn't come up is when I am on FaceBook.  I don't know where is came from and its getting to be really annoying.  I've scanned everything and can't seem to find anything.  I've gone in my installed programs and can't find anything out of the ordinary.  Please tell me what to do to get rid of this.  Attached File  Capture.JPG   26.83KB   8 downloads

Is this a trial version of McAfee that you are using?

If it is a trial version-whether downloaded from McAfee OR set up because your computer has the trial-you are being nagged to buy it.

Is this version coming up on its expiration date?

If you click on hide ad does it still popup?

I have 160 days til it expires and yes when I click on hide ad it slides back to the left and comes right back up when I go to another page.  Like I said, it does not do this on FaceBook, just every where else.

I did a Google search for this problem, I was amazed at the number of people posting about this with no solution.  I've seen topics regarding this ranging in date from 2010 to June of this year.  McAfee is aware of this, but it looks like they are not going to do anything about this.  This just adds to the list of reasons I would never suggest McAfee.

This type of information gives insight to this problem.  As a future reference, this type of information should be included in your initial post in your topic.

What browser are you using?

I'm sorry I should have mentioned it before.  And I am using Google Chrome at the moment but I have also tried FireFox and Internet Explorer.  I know Google has alot of issues but I have to use it for my online classes.

I was about to post a long shot and ask if you have any toolbars installed. Sometimes they can cause weird things to happen.
But if it happens no matter what browser you are using it may not have anything to do with toolbars if you have any.

The only other thing I can think of is to see what installed programs you have. Even though you did not see anything out of the ordinary there could be something that someone else spots.

Download MiniToolBox, Save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following box only:
•List Installed Programs

Click Go and copy / paste the result (Result.txt).
