Does AdwCleaner support adding a process to the whitelist. We use Citrix GoToAssist for support and it kills the connection.

Hi,

Can you give me the name of this process so I'll be able to whitelist it ( or them ) ?

Regards,

Xplode.

Hi,

Can you give me the name of this process so I'll be able to whitelist it ( or them ) ?

Regards,

Xplode.

It would be really convenient if you add a tab for excluding items, cause,a PUP for one is not annoying, but for others it might be.

Edit : I just noticed OP is talking about a legitimate service.

Sure Citrix GoToAssist processes that should be whitelisted are as follows:

g2ax_service.exe

g2ax_user_customer.exe

g2ax_host.exe

Still terminating this legitimate process... GoToAssist by Citrix users cannot run AdwCleaner. This is a huge base of remote support techs...

Staff members and Security Experts are all volunteers who assist members as time permits. No one is paid for their work or assistance to members of our community. We have jobs in the real world, families and other commitments so we are not always logged into the forums on a daily basis.

Xplode is subscribed to this topic so he probably will respond the first chance he gets to do so.

I am not in any way complaining. I am just pointing it out since Xplode indicated that in 3.0.0.3 this would be whitelisted and it is not. We are several revisions past so I am making the assumption that Xplode was busy with more pressing tasks,

I registered to add this as a request as well. I, like others in this thread, realize that this project is being worked on in spare time, but I'd also point out that we're only interested in helping to make the product better. If you get no feedback you won't know how to improve the product, and then why are you working on it in the first place?

So yes, we're all on the same side...and ADWCleaner still breaks GoToAssist connections.

This requires that I create a completely new session, have the user go back to the site and enter a new session key, etc. This is an annoying process (which is Citrix's fault, not yours).

When I have unattended access installed on one of my client's computers, the connection still breaks, but it looks like the GoToAssist client on the user's computer reconnects immediately, because as long as I end the session I can reconnect to the user right away without having to call them. Combofix also breaks the connection, but the computer has to be restarted by the user before I'm able to reconnect with unattended access.

In summary, I'd really appreciate it if ADWCleaner could avoid cutting off GoToAssist. Naturally, I don't want to make the product less effective, but I find it curious that nothing related to Citrix or GoToAssist is every listed in any of the results, but it still gets cut off. Is ADWCleaner touching other areas of the computer that don't get listed in the results tabs?

Yes the developer welcomes feedback. I will add a note in his private discussion topic that the issue still persists in case he overlooked this one.

Wonderful!

I'm sorry if I came off as annoyed at all. I had just had this happen to me, and it's happened about four times in the last day, but all on unattended access computers so it wasn't a huge deal, just a little one. But I keep using it because it's a great application! Thanks to the developer for all the work he's done to make such a great cleaner.
