unusual file on c drive

i have a new computer, and yes went with windows 7 until windows 8 is more tested. however in the first month i have a file i have no idea where it came from




and another one




anyone have a clue what they are for.

Probably Global Unique Identifiers GUIDs or Security Identifiers SIDs for programs, services or accounts that are running on your computer. Where exactly did you find them -- that is, what folder or set of folders are they in? If your computer isn't acting up, I wouldn't worry about them too much.
