Hi, Excuse me for being a little computer illiterate.

I run a XP PRO OS with IE 10.  On boot up I get the usual Microsoft windows Logo, then the moving dots and then the welcome screen.  After this I always get a White screen complete with Icons, but which is locked to everything.  There is a box which invites me to restore Active Desktop but does not do anything        Any advice please

Good afternoon :).

I don't think you have IE10 installed...last version of IE for XP is IE8.  What makes you think that IE10 is installed?

I don't know anything about Active Desktop.

Can you boot into safe mode?
