Had a friend build me a new desktop PC.  He chose the parts, i bought them, he assembled them and set it up.  Anyway, not really knowing what its going on with it, i'm getting a warning saying that my CPU is running at 60 centigrade.  Not really sure what i should do or if i should do something.  Hopefully someone out there can assist me.

Will be happy to provide specs if necessary.

Specs would be useful.  Where are you getting the temperature warning?

Speedfan could help, that is, if the temperature probe and other hardware is working properly.  I wonder if the OP's PC shut down due to overheating.

Nope, PC is still here.  Just been busy.  Thanks for the feeback, here are some specs.

  • Processor: AMD A10-6800k APU with Radeon™ HD Graphics 4.40 GHz
  • 16 GB ram
  • Motherboard: Asus F2A85-M PRO

I did adjust the rpm's of the heat sink fan.  That seems to help.  I still get the warning, just not as often.

I will download speed fan as you suggested.

What sort of temperatures are you getting from Speedfan?
