hi there. i have 2 problems.

1. i cannot update 1 particular update which is :

Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB2468871)

i have  tried to manually update it by going to microsoft website and downloading it but i get this error message:

KB2468871v2 does not apply, or is blocked by another condition on your computer.

2. i cannot seem to change any folder attributes to non-read only even when i turned off uac and taken ownership of the folder. it keeps falling back to read only.

i have tried to open cmd as admin and did attrib -r to the folder but still to no avail.

any non drastic help that doesnt require a reformat or restore would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance!

Hi -

A direct quote from Microsoft forum (very recent) Re : KB2468871 would not install.

This was their personal solution, and not from M/soft advisors ............

I just went into Control Panel "Uninstall a program" and clicked on "Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile", and selected "Repair .NET Framework 4 Client Profile to its original state".  This apparently re-installs .NET Framework 4.

Hope this is a simple solution for you also. :)
