Hi, I'm in a situation where I need my BIOS setting to be AHCI but I also have a RAID array.

Will my RAID array work under AHCI mode?

Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VI extreme.

HHD

nr.1. ssd 240gb (Win8 OS)

nr.2 WD Black 2tb - RAID 1

nr.3 WS Black 2tb - RAID 1

I have successfully set my optical drives(WD Black*2) in to RAID 1, setting sata configuration to RAID mod.

As you see my system have as well one SSD(C:Win8 OS), and i really don't want to not use ACHI regarding this.

How dose this work? Will RAID Mode disable ACHI for my ssd? Being confused here..

Some links worth reviewing, IMO:

Hi Louis. Thank you for the links.

So AHCI is a subset of raid, so i could specify raid, and you will get trim for the ssd, so long as it is not part of a raid array, right?
