Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit.

I had some slow-down and lock-ups on my computer recently and decided stupidly to re-run the steps I was provided last year when I had malware.  After running the ComboFix, my machine can no longer access the internet either with ethernet or wireless..  I can ping my router but can not access the internet nor any other computers on my home network.  I tried re-installing the adaptor drivers, running diagnostics, running ipconfig /flushdns, resetting the winsock and also tried going back to an earlier restore point.

I don't know now whether it is malware or configuraton or both.

At this point I am at my wits end and desperate.  Please help.

Just out of curiosity you say "decided stupidly to re-run the steps I was provided last year when I had malware." How is this possible when you only have one post listed in your contents?

Is this member name a new identity from the one you mention have been helped before? You should be using the same identity so we can see what was done in the past and not start from scratch and waste your time and the helpers time.

I was provided the steps on another forum.  This is my first time registering or posting on BleepingComputer.

In April of 2012 my computer was running slow and I was getting message telling me that MalwareBytes was blocking an IP.  This time the computer was just running slow.  I thought I would try the steps again to see if they worked before going back to a forum.

Thank you for the clarification. Since you have run ComboFix prior to posting here for assistance please follow the guidelines here: Preparation Guide For Use Before Using Malware Removal Tools and Requesting Help Starting with step 6. Also include the ComboFix log if it is available.

Post your logs in this forum: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/22/virus-trojan-spyware-and-malware-removal-logs/

Not this forum.

When you have completed your log posting please reply to this topic with a link to your new topic that includes the malware logs. Thank you.

We appreciate you choosing Bleeping Computer.

Thank You.

Now that your log is properly posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a Malware Removal Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the logs you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the Malware Removal Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the Malware Removal Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the Malware Removal Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another Malware Removal Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic.
