Hi guys,

I am helping out at a school with about 30 ipads. We have let them sit all summer and they have a lot of app store updates, however, when we try to update them by clicking update all they just sit there. We let them sit all night and the loading bars on theapps havn't moved at all! What can we do? We need theese iPads for our lessons and half the apps are unusable because they are stuck in a loading state. Please help.... Think of the childeren!

I have to say I got a chuckle out of this :) I can only imagine my ipad not working for my children and the rebellion that would occur!

Have you tried powering down one of them and then starting it again? Also its possible that they are updating, but slowly. I am pretty sure that it will only update 1 or two apps at a time, so it may look like its not updating but its just waiting for one to finish.

If restarting, and its really stuck, its possible one app is getting stuck and backing up the chain. To fix this, on each page of apps, click on the app twice to get it to stop updating. Then go back into the App store->update tab and update a few at a time till you find the one that hangs. If you find the one that hangs, you may have to remove that app and reinstall it completely.

Long process, but unfortunately not much can be done.

The children will be thrilled I'm sure. :) Thanks for letting us know you were able to update.
