Hello again!

Yet another issue that has me baffled!

Here are my specs once again;

ASUS P5BW-LA Basswood Socket 775
Intel Pentium M 6600 Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz

8 GB PC2-6400 DDR2

250 GB SATA HD w/multiple USB drives
Nvidia GeForce GT 610 1GB

Realtek Onboard 5.1 High Def Audio
Windows 7 Home Premium SP1

So I was trying to consolidate files from one USB drive to another, I had windows open for each folder I was transferring files from/to.  I would select a group of files from one folder, right click - Cut them, then right click - Paste them to the destination folder, obvilously!  I managed to transfer around 25 GB's using that method, then it just stopped working.  First of all, no the destination drive isn't full ! :lmao:  So I tried Copy & Paste... nothing.  Then I tried selecting a group of folders and dragging them to the destination folder...  nothing!  So I started doing some good ol' Googling!

I should note that this is a fresh and activated new install of Win 7 and it's not OEM.  I read in a post somewhere else that someone had issues related to the Java applet or something.  So I checked my machine and found I had no Java at all!  So I installed the latest version from the Oracle website.  Still no joy.  So I tried rebooting the system...  nothing!  Lastly I tried disconnecting/reconnecting each drive.  Still nothing!  I also searched this site for any related posts and found none.

In case it matters, I'm trying to transfer folders containing MP3 files from drive to drive.

Any ideas?  Thanks in advance!

Ok it's getting even weirder...  was just doing some unrelated work and realized that I can cut any other item from any other drive and paste it to the USB drives...  just NOT the files I want to!  Could the size of the folder have anything to do with this problem?  Some of them are quite large as they are certain band's complete discographys.

IME...file/folder size has nothing to do with capability to cut/paste, copy, or move.  I move .ts and .mpg files which are much larger...all the time from Parition 1 to Partition 2.

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

There we go!  Hope someone can help me sort this.  I saw the numerous errors on the Toshiba USB drive so will be running chkdsk on it as soon as I post this.

Thanks for the tips & assistance!
