My computer is running Windows 7 64 bit, and I have a WD (that's the symbol that is on the top of it etched in the plastic) external Hard drive.

My problem is that when I plug it in I get the sound that something has been connected, then I get the message "Installing devices" and a bit later "Installation of devices successful). But my hard drive never shows up as being plugged in.

Does the drive show up in Disk Management?
