Good afternoon. I want to beat my head into a wall over this computer today. I told her not to install Norton but she did and since 30 day had expired the Internet has Local Access Only. I have tried many things from: removing Norton, ran CCleaner, turned off IPv6 and turned it back on, device manager is ok (no yellow triangles), services are running, firewalls off, repaired and reset ipconfigs and adapters, and oh...6 or 7 hundred reboots. ;) One thing I noticed was the IPv4 address differs from the default gateway and DHCP server...am I on to something with this or is having differing addresses normal? Let me know if I am missing information. Thank you.

Did you use the Norton Removal Tool when you uninstalled Norton? Norton Removal Tool.

Download MiniToolBox and open/run the program.
When open, checkmark or select all options then click Go.
A notepad will open then copy-paste the report on your next reply.

Were you able to run the Norton Removal Tool?

Download Windows Repair (All in One) from this site.

Install the program then run it.

Go to Step 2 and allow it to run CheckDisk by clicking on Do It button:

Oops, my bad. Yes I successfully ran the Norton Removal Tool...well...when I clicked on finish, it took me to a web page the computer can't view at the moment and I assumed it was a Successful and Feedback page (just closed the page). I am going run Windows Repair and post as soon as it is done. :) (looking like a late night)

I stopped at Section 4 of the Windows Repair to do a up-to-date back up disc and will continue my repair as soon as the disc is done. As soon as the Repair is done, I am on to Speccy and already have it ready to launch.

Please Edit your Speccy text attached and post only the publish link for a more readable post. The Minitoolbox log looks fine.

   IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 10.0.0.8(Preferred)
   Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
   Lease Obtained. . . . . . . . . . : Monday, August 19, 2013 5:26:22 PM
   Lease Expires . . . . . . . . . . : Monday, August 26, 2013 5:26:22 PM
   Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 10.0.0.1
   DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 10.0.0.1
   DHCPv6 IAID . . . . . . . . . . . : 234888094
   DHCPv6 Client DUID. . . . . . . . : 00-01-00-01-0F-56-DC-AE-00-1E-EC-04-82-E8
   DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 75.75.76.76
                                       75.75.75.75

The only problem is the assigned DNS server addresses. Try reverting to auto DNS servers then check on the difference.

When I try to Publish the link I get an error message on Speccy:

"The Server Name or Addess Could Not Be Resolved"

Got a different idea to get you the information. I attached a copy of the txt file because I know that Cut and Paste can make trashy results sometimes. I am really trying to not be difficult this morning.

Ok, try the dns auto first.

Description: The DNS proxy agent was unable to allocate 0 bytes of memory. This may indicate that the system is low on virtual memory, or that the memory manager has encountered an internal error.

Regarding the error, see this Link on disabling ICS.

ICS on the Wireless Network was disabled when I got to the screen

Then I thought I would be cool and went into CMD and type "net start msiserver" and got a System Error 5...so I am stopping until instruction

UPDATE: When I try to upload the .Speccy file snapshot (Bleeping Computers says I am not permitted to upload such file)
