Windows Restarts In Various Applications

I am able to start up Windows XP and it loads my user settings fine.
But, in a variety of different applications and taking different actions, the system automatically shuts down Windows and restarts. This is quite irritating to say the least. I fear I may have something in my system that may be causing this. I used Norton Anti-Virus 2005, Ad-Aware, Microsoft Anti-Spyware, and SpyWareBlaster, but none of these seem to trap and repair anything having to do with my frequent restarts. I have found no viruses. I tried running a full Ad-Aware scan, but it crashes about 3/4 of the way through and the system reboots.

I apologize for the delay getting to your log, the helpers here are very busy.

The good news is that I don't find any signs of malware in your log. But we can clean up your log a bit and remove some of unnecessary programs that are running automatically at startup.

Run Hijackthis again, click scan, and Put a checkmark next to each of these. Then close all other windows--you should only see HijackThis on your Desktop--and click the Fix Checked button.
