So a little confused. I use Chrome and have the proxy switchy extension and it states connected to Tor and the globe is blue so looks good. Here's my issue. I also got a desktop icon that looks like a Tor link it opens up and connects to Tor no probs but then opens up a browser that looks like a broken down IE home page. I was under the understanding that so long as I connected to Tor first and then opened chrome so long as the globe was blue and stated connected to Tor I was in fact still browsing sort of bi-proxy via Tor. Any clarification would be great. The article at Lifehack just confused me.

How to Configure your Web Browser to use TOR. http://www.techinspirit.com/configure-web-browser-tor/

I suggest to use the Tor Browser Bundle. https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en

Yes, I only use Tor to access onion url's, or hidden, websites on Tor - and to hide my ip when I need to?
