A tale of three computers - that I am accessing remotely.

A) XP Pro SP3 Laptop

B) XP Pro SP3 Desktop

C) Windows 8 Laptop

I can access these PCs either by a SonicWall VPN connection with RDP,  or GoToMyPC.

For C, either method will hold a connection just fine.

For B, either method will hold a connection just fine.

For A GoToMyPC will hold the connection.... VPN with RDP will not.

The VPN itself is stable as I can stay connected to the other machines on this peer to peer network via the VPN... while machine A keeps dropping out - often with a BSOD.

I have run Malwarebytes, and Vipre and come up empty

I have run sfc /scannow.

I have run checkdisk with both options checked

Windows updates are up to date.

Have run diskcleanup to clear temp files

Have run Advanced System Care to check the registry

Have disabled suspicious entries in msconfig

Suggestions welcome

I would suggest discontinuing any use of Advanced System Care...on any system.

Registry cleaner - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Registry_cleaner

Microsoft support policy for the use of registry cleaning utilities - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2563254

As a matter of policy...BC does not recommend using this type of program with Windows.
