I have external backup which has backed up the aaliance virus and other virus

on my external hardrive I want to remove theese problems from external hard drive so I can then load my documetns back onto my working computer any idears as I have a few as been away for week and got infected and then the infeted computer was backed up onto my external harddrive so any idears how to fix this.

with a clean computer and up to date anti virus software, disconnect from network/internet, plug in external and scan
