Good evening,

Hope I am posting in the correct area.

I am having a really hard time finding the correct charger for my Compaq EVO N600C.  I have purchased two off e-bay.  In both cases the plug into the laptop is to large.  As a matter of fact they are both the same size.

I purchased the first one, 18.5V 3.5A as it was listed to fit this system.  When the plug didn't fit, we ordered a second one using the exact specs shown on the laptop, 18.5V 2.7A thinking this was the problem.  This charger had the same size plug.

I do not have an original charger to match up so don't know what is going on......anyone have an idea?

Thanks a lot.

What I would do is look at a local store and take the laptop with me. The local Computer store near me stocked genuine AC adapters.

If you are only looking by voltage and Amps that is the problem as you have found out there are many sizes of the plugs into the laptop.

For example These from Amazon where I looked them up by make and model of the laptop.

Good Luck

Just grab yourself a universal power brick/adapters and see what fits. Like this:

I have two, a really good Rosewill universal, and a no name universal I use on all flavors of lappys, and so far no problems (although Dells sometimes give the "Not a Dell Power Supply" warning), but it still works.
