I have an original Windows 8 pro (not pirated). I am currently running on windows 7 home premium 64bit. I have 200 GB of songs, videos, programs, documents etc. If I install Windows 8, even after clicking the 'keep all my files and programs' option, will my data be erased. I don't want to take any risk so thats why I am asking. I dont have an external hard disk to store all my data and so I cant make a backup. Can I safely install windows 8 without anything getting deleted or changed? If not what alternatives could I use

Thanks in advance

Hi

You can safely upgrade the Windows 7 home premium to Windows 8 Pro. This will keep all your data and most programs. An upgrade install won't delete your personnel files. As an additional bonus, you don't need to re-install and reactivate softwares like MS Office again. They are also preserved.

Please read the below excellent guide for detailed instructions.
