Hi Yall,

I'm trying to fix an older Inspiron running Windows XP Media Edition 2005 for a friend.

I've updated all, upgraded to 2gb of ram.  Everything is up to date and is running with sp3.

My problem is I cannot get pics uploaded to Ebay on a wireless connection.  It works just fine if I'm connected with an ethernet cable to the router.(at my house) Tried with 3 different browsers, IE8, Chrome and Firefox.

My friend lives out in the country and hard wiring her pc is not an option.  She uses a satellite connection a good distance from the house, thus the wireless connection.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks

Deborah

I'd just set the wireless connection up anew, since the wired connection works properly.

Well, the strange part is it's happening at my house also.  I never have a problem like this with my pc's, but all are running Windows 7.... :lmao:

System reflects a number of errors reflecting on connectivity, IMO.

You have an AVG 2012 process running...please kill it.

Please...uninstall the Glary software...Chrome...Spybot.

Use the Windows Firewall, if you are not doing so.

Go to Windows Update, install every critical update applying to XP, SP3.

Uninstall the WLAN drivers via Device Manager...then reboot, reinstall correct drivers.

Set the WLAN connectivity up properly.

Hi Louis,

I do believe the problem is resolved.  While uninstalling the above items with Revo Uninstaller, I also ran across some lingering remains of Auslogic speedboost, which I also got rid of!  Not sure which item was responsible, but now there appears to be no problems with uploading images etc for Ebay.

Thank you soooo much for your help!

Deborah
