Problem with Outlook, Internet Explorer & Today Blue Screen

I have been having a problem for about a week with Outlook and Internet Explorer, and probably other programs as well. The programs seem to be getting slower and slower to respond as time goes on after a restart, and finally I get a "not responding" message whereby everything just freezes up. Today, after having the computer off for a couple days, it started fine and was working normally with Outlook and Internet Explorer for a couple hours, and then while I was in Internet Explorer it started acting up again, and I received a blue screen message indicating windows was shut down. The notation was that it was a "stop 0x0000007A" ; KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR.

 

I have no idea what to do to get my computer running properly again. This all seemed to start soon after I tried to update my installation of Skype. I need help!

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

 

Checkmark the following checkboxes:

  List last 10 Event Viewer log

  List Installed Programs

  List Users, Partitions and Memory size.

 

Click Go and paste the content into your next post.

Please uninstall the Iolo software, any and all.

 

Uninstall the Symantec software (any/all) and instead use Microsoft Security Essential and the Windows Firewall.

 

Then...run the chkdsk /r command on the Windows partition.

I uninstalled the Iolo and Symantec software and ran chkdsk /r c:. I also downloaded and installed Microsoft Security Essentials and did a quick scan with no problems found. When I ran chkdsk /r I saw a brief flash on my screen, but the window flew by so fast I could not see what was in it. Should I have been able to see it?

 

What is the next step.

Well...a chkdsk /r should take more than just a flash.

 

On my Win 7 laptop...I get a black screen telling me that it cannot lock current drive, etc. and asking me if I want to run chkdsk / at next boot.  This is what should normally occur, based on all my previous experiences.

 

Please try it again.  You don't need the "C" in the chkdsk  command. kist chkdsk /r.

I found out how to get chkdsk /r going on my C drive here: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/guide-to-using-check-disk-in-windows-vista/

 

 

 

 

So, I had to schedule the disk check for starting after I shut down and started up again since my C drive is always active when I am using the computer. Apparently that was what the nearly invisible windows may have been telling me!.

Free space verification is complete.
Adding 2 bad clusters to the Bad Clusters File.

There are bad sectors in your hard drive and it is clearly failing. The BSOD  KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR further confirms it .This stop code is generally caused by failing hard drives.

0xC000009C, or STATUS_DEVICE_DATA_ERROR, typically indicates bad blocks (sectors) on the hard disk.
0xC000009D, or STATUS_DEVICE_NOT_CONNECTED, indicates defective or loose cabling, termination, or that the controller does not see the hard disk.
0xC000016A, or STATUS_DISK_OPERATION_FAILED, indicates bad blocks (sectors) on the hard disk.

Backup all the data immediately and replace the hard drive as soon as possible. That is what i recommends.
