Hi, I'm looking to buy a mid-price range notebook for personal use (web surfing, watching TV shows/movies, checking emails, listening to music). I mostly plan to use it around my home but would like something fairly light, durable and long-lasting (my current laptop's 5 years old), has decent display and sound (although nothing heavy-duty as I don't really play games) and has a touch-screen (for the long-term factor if nothing else).

I've mostly narrowed it down to Lenovo IdeaPad U410 Touch and Asus VivoBook S400CA. Does anyone have experience with these notebooks and/or could give me some advice on which to purchase? Also if you think there's a similar but better laptop I should consider, please let me know.  Thanks.

Mel

I ended up buying an Asus and it's been quite good so far.
