I always get a black screen when I turn on my Dell Inspiron 17 which runs Windows 8. My solution is to hit CTRL>ALT>DEL which then allows the laptop to start normally. Does anyone know of a fix for this? Thanks for your help.

Hi

:welcome: to the Bleeping Computer forum.

This can be happened due to various reasons. Try the below steps one by one.

:step1: Make sure the system date and time is correct.

:step2: Perform a full malware scan using the below tools.

      1. Malwarebytes free       : http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/malwarebytes-anti-malware/

      2. ESET Online Scanner   : http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=149856

:step3: If the issue remains, perform a clean boot which isolates all third party softwares and services from startup.
