Hi Guys,

Today morning when I connected my external hard drive (Verbatim 1TB) I saw one folder with greater than 10 GB size.

Last suspicious Activity with HD: I shared this drive with my friend for copying some data. Before this point I did not find this folder.

Some more details

When I opened HD -

1. I saw folder with name "1"

2. I renamed this folder to test

3. Contents of this folder are as below.

Volume in drive J is VERBATIM HD
 Volume Serial Number is 4CA2-F71B

 Directory of J:\Data\test

               3 Dir(s) 952,022,794,240 bytes free

I tried following unsuccessfully

1. Renaming folders and files

2. Deleting folders and files

It will not allow me to do any of these above.

Some of these show weird dates from future and past. I have highlighted them with red color above.

Anything I can do to get rid of this folder?

Try running free Malwarebytes on the explorer window by right-clicking the removable drive and do a quick scan. Make sure Mbam is updated to the latest definition and remove any threats found after the scan.
